IKEA opened its first Alabama store in Huntsville on February 25, 2026—about 100 miles north of Birmingham. I built an interactive forecasting tool that models how that entry is likely to affect existing Birmingham furniture retailers, using a gradient boosting pipeline trained on economic indicators and a configurable IKEA disruption overlay.

Using causal Gaussian filtering, statistical feature extraction, and PCA, I built a bearing degradation monitor that only looks backward in time — the same constraint a live sensor dashboard would face. PC1 trends clearly upward before failure, and the model generalizes to a second experiment it has never seen.
